Acknowledging the blood, sweat & tears that went into making a head explode on film, among other things.

Slightly Off Topic...

Yes, this deviates a bit off the track, but Kurt Russell is a valuable member of the practical effects film canon. He has starred in some of the best non CGI special effects films out there. That is why this post feels justified for this blog.

We can all agree that Hollywood is on a remake rampage. One thing that sticks out for me though is the insane amount of remakes of Kurt Russell films. The Thing, Escape From New York, Overboard. Yeah, so far that's only 3, but who's to say that Big Trouble In Little China, Used Cars and Breakdown aren't on the horizon? We Russell fans need to make our voices heard. We need to let Hollywood know that Kurt Russell is better than them!

I have designed this logo in the hope that the word can be spread. Shirts, stickers, posters, whatever! copyright withstanding of course.

We stand with you Kurt. Hollywood will not erase your films from us with their re-imagined garbage.

Thank You.

Now back to your regular scheduled air bladders.

  1. Okay, I'm gonna age myself here, but what the hey!
As a wee lad, I caught all of the Dexter Gordon flicks Kurt made for Disney, then, one night on ABC (I think it was ABC), he was Charles Whitman in The Deadly Tower! Hey mom--The computer that wore tennis shoes is shooting people!
After that, jumping into Used Cars (listen to Kurt's commentary track with Bob Zemekis; it's good) and working with John Carpenter was no surprise. Thankfully.

  2. There's already been a USED CARS remake, T. Well, an unacknowledged one anyway with that awful and totally unfunny movie, THE GOODS: LIVE HARD, SELL HARD.

USED CARS is awesome. One of my favorite comedies.

  3. What I love about USED CARS is that it is one of those early 80's comedies that you couldn't make today. It was anti-PC and insane. It almost had a John Landis feel towards it. There's something to offend everyone in it. Kurt and Gerrit Graham needed to be in more movies together.
